Warning: An intensifying low pressure Coastal Disturbance is brewing in Prince Rupert. Strong to gale forces are expected to sweep through the area on June 23-30, 2007.
The low will move away quickly into the high alpine between Terrace and Prince Rupert. This will be followed by a ridge walk of high pressure that will build and hover above the competition. Coastal Disturbance; the name reflects both the personality and drive of the team, along with the weather that rules the area in which they live. The weather here is intense; as is the passion for life and sports in this area. This team is a group of longtime friends who enjoy the North Coast Mountains for the epic snowfalls, raging rivers, rising tides, and falling rains. Heli-skiing in the middle of August, whitewater paddling huge tidal rapids, day trips to secret hot springs, epic bushwhacks, epic climbs, first assents and first descents... the Northwest mountains are our playground! Motivation and pure insanity push this foursome to the end of each adventure... whatever that is. |
